  • He was a former detainee at گوانتانمو کھاڑی from April 2006 to June 2006 until he was handed over to Saudi Arabian authorities and subsequently released.[۳۷]
  • Quietly removed from the U.S. State Department's Rewards for Justice list in January 2016.[۴۴]
  • In March 2016، the State Department confirmed to The Bureau of Investigative Journalism that al-Ghamdi no longer "posed a threat to U.S. persons or interests."[۴۵]
