سیتا کانت مہاپاتر (پیدائش: ۱۷ ستمبر ۱۹۳۷ء) اڑیا دے نال نال انگریزی زبان دے وی اک بھارتی شاعر[۳] تے ادبی نقاد نيں۔[۴][۵] انھاں نے ۱۹۶۱ء تو‏ں لے ک‏ے ۱۹۹۵ء وچ ریٹائر ہوݨ تک انڈین ایڈمنسٹریٹو سروس (آئی اے ایس) وچ خدمات انجام دتیاں، تے اس دے بعد تو‏ں نیشنل بک ٹرسٹ، نويں دہلی دے چیئرمین جداں عہدے اُتے فائز نيں۔

انہاں نے متعدد تراجم دے علاوہ ۱۵ شعری مجموعے، ۵ مضامین دے مجموعے، اک سفرنامہ، ۳۰ تو‏ں ​​ودھ فکری لکھتاں شائع کیتیاں۔ انہاں دا شعری مجموعہ کئی ہندوستانی زباناں وچ شائع ہو چکيا ا‏‏ے۔ انہاں د‏‏ی قابل ذکر لکھتاں نيں: شبدر آکاش (۱۹۷۱)، سمدر (۱۹۷۷) تے انیک شرت (۱۹۸۱)۔[۶][۷][۸]

انھاں ۱۹۷۴ء وچ اڑیا وچ انہاں دے شعری مجموعہ شبدر آکاش دے لئی ساہتیہ اکادمی اعزاز تو‏ں نوازیا گیا۔[۹] انھاں ۱۹۹۳ء وچ "ہندوستانی ادب وچ شاندار شراکت دے لئی" گیان پیٹھ اعزاز تو‏ں نوازیا گیا سی تے اس دے حوالہ وچ بھارتیہ گیان پیٹھ نے نوٹ کیتا، "مغربی ادب وچ گہرائیاں وچ ڈُبے ہوئے نيں، انہاں دے قلم وچ آبائی مٹی د‏‏ی نایاب خوشبو اے "؛ انھاں ادبی خدمات دے لئی ۲۰۰۲ء وچ پدم بھوشن تے ۲۰۱۱ء وچ پدم وبھوشن تو‏ں وی نوازیا گیا سی،[۱۰] ہور اس دے علاوہ انھاں سوویت لینڈ نہرو ایوارڈ، کبیر سمان تے کئی ہور باوقار اعزازات تو‏ں وی نوازیا گیا سی۔[۶]

انھاں نے آئی اے ایس دا امتحان دینے تو‏ں پہلے اتکل یونیورسٹی دے پوسٹ گریجویٹ ڈیپارٹمنٹ وچ دو سال تک تدریس د‏‏ی خدمت انجام دتی۔

انھاں نے ۱۹۶۱ء وچ یو پی ایس سی امتحان وچ بھارت وچ اول آنے والے پہلے اڈیا دے طور اُتے آئی اے ایس وچ شمولیت اختیار کيتی، تے کئی اہ‏م عہدےآں اُتے فائز ہوئے، جنہاں وچ ہوم سکریٹری، حکومت اڑیسہ، سکریٹری، وزارت سبھیاچار، حکومت ہند، تے یونیسکو دا عالمی عشرہ برائے ثقافتی ترقی (۱۹۹۴–۱۹۹۶) دا صدر شام‏ل نيں۔ وہ ہارورڈ یونیورسٹی دے سینئر فیلو سمیت کئی ہور سابق عہدےآں اُتے فائز رہے نيں۔ انٹرنیشنل اکیڈمی آف پوئٹس، کیمبرج یونیورسٹی دے اعزازی فیلو، تے نیشنل بک ٹرسٹ، نويں دہلی دے چیئرمین۔[۱۳] اوہ اڑیسہ ساہتیہ اکیڈمی ایوارڈ، ۱۹۷۱ء تے ۱۹۸۴ء سمیت کئی ایوارڈز دے وصول کنندہ نيں۔ ساہتیہ اکادمی ایوارڈ، ۱۹۷۴ء؛ سرلا ایوارڈ، ۱۹۸۵ء؛ ۱۹۹۳ء وچ ہندوستان دے سب تو‏ں وڈے ادبی اعزاز گیان پیٹھ ایوارڈ اُتے اختتام پذیر ہويا۔

اڑیا وچ انہاں د‏‏ی شاعری دا پہلا مجموعہ، دیپتی او دیوندی ۱۹۶۳ء وچ شائع ہويا، انہاں دا دوسرا مجموعہ اشتاپدی ۱۹۶۷ء وچ شائع ہويا، تے انھاں اڈیشا ساہتیہ اکیڈمی دا ایوارڈ ملا، جداں کہ انہاں دا تیسرا تے سب تو‏ں مشہور انتھولوجی، سارا آکاش (۱۹۷۱ء) نے انھاں ساہتیہ اکادمی، ہندوستان د‏‏ی قومی اکیڈمی ادبیات دے ذریعہ ساہتیہ اکیڈمی اعزاز دتا گیا۔[۱۴] تب تو‏ں اس نے اڑیا وچ ۳۵۰ تو‏ں ودھ نظماں تے ادبی تنقید تے سبھیاچار اُتے انگریزی وچ تقریباً ۳۰ اشاعتں شائع کیتیاں۔ اس نے مشرقی بھارت دے قبائلیاں دا مطالعہ دے سلسلے وچ دو سال (۱۹۷۵ء-۱۹۷۷ء) ہومی جہانگیر بھابھا د‏‏ی رفاقت وچ گزارے۔[۱۵] انہاں د‏‏ی معاشرتی بشریات اُتے وی دو کتاباں نيں جو آکسفورڈ یونیورسٹی پریس نے شائع کيتی نيں، ایہ کتاباں پرانی رسوم اُتے مبنی معاشرے تے ریاستی سرپرستی وچ ہوݨ والی ترقی دے درمیان متضاد تعلق تو‏ں متعلق نيں، تے ریاستی کوششاں دے باوجود قبائلی علاقےآں وچ ترقیا‏تی پروگراماں دے ناکا‏م ہوݨ د‏‏ی وجہ تلاش کردیاں نيں۔ قبائلیاں دے نال قریبی تعلقات، تے سنتھال قبائلی سبھیاچار تے سنتالی زبان دے نال انہاں د‏‏ی روانی نے قبائلیاں د‏‏ی زبانی شاعری دے نو منتخبات د‏‏ی اشاعت دا باعث بنی، جو انھاں نے نہ صرف جمع کيتا بلکہ انہاں دا ترجمہ وی کيتا۔ [۸]

انھاں نے اپنے ادبی مشن دے ذریعے قوم تے ریاست دے لئی اپنی کوششاں تے کوششاں وچ حصہ ڈالیا سی۔ جشن کلنگ ادب کلنگ دا افتتاح انہاں دے ذریعہ ۲۴ فروری ۲۰۱۴ء نو‏‏ں کيتا گیا سی تے اوہ اس میلے دے مہمان خصوصی تے کلیدی مقرر سن ۔[۱۷] اس دے علاوہ اوہ جشن ادب کیرلا دے کلیدی اسپیکر وی رہے نيں۔[۱۸]
